Wellness Resources & Client Education

Your wellness journey does not begin or end with your retreat. Our Resource Center provides helpful information to prepare you for your experience, better understand the services available to you, and continue making informed decisions about your health after returning home. These resources are designed to complement the personalized guidance you receive from qualified healthcare and wellness professionals.

Preparing for Your Medical Assessment

Thoughtful preparation helps your medical team develop a more complete understanding of your health. Before traveling, we encourage you to gather the following:

  • · A current list of prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements
  • · Relevant medical records and recent laboratory or imaging results
  • · Information about allergies, dietary restrictions, and existing medical conditions
  • · Contact information for your primary care provider and specialists
  • · A list of health concerns or questions you would like to discuss
  • · Emergency contact information
  • · Your passport, travel documents, and insurance information

Additional preparation instructions may be provided based on the screenings and services included in your personalized program.

Understanding Your Medical Assessment

Your comprehensive medical assessment is designed to provide greater insight into your current health and identify areas that may benefit from further attention.

Depending on your selected program and individual needs, your assessment may include physician consultations, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, cardiovascular screening, wellness evaluations, and other preventive services.

Your medical team will explain your assessments, review your results, and provide recommendations based on their findings. If additional testing or treatment is recommended, you will receive guidance about appropriate next steps.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine, commonly known as TCM, is a centuries-old approach to wellness that focuses on supporting balance throughout the body. Depending on an individual's needs, TCM may include herbal preparations, acupuncture, therapeutic massage, movement, and nutrition-based practices.

These approaches may be incorporated into a broader wellness plan and used alongside conventional medical care when appropriate. Your experience should always be guided by qualified professionals who understand your medical history, current medications, and personal wellness goals.

Herbal products and complementary therapies are not appropriate for everyone. Certain herbs and supplements may interact with prescription medications or affect existing medical conditions. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning any herbal product, supplement, or complementary treatment.

Nutrition and Healthy Living

Nutrition plays an important role in supporting overall wellness. During your experience, you may be introduced to practical strategies that support balanced eating, hydration, energy, digestion, and long-term health.

Because every person's needs are different, recommendations should consider your medical history, cultural preferences, dietary restrictions, allergies, and lifestyle. Our goal is to help you develop realistic habits that can continue after your retreat.

Mental and Emotional Wellness

Rest, reflection, and emotional well-being are essential parts of whole-person wellness. Our retreats provide space to step away from everyday demands, reconnect with yourself, and consider how stress, sleep, relationships, and lifestyle may affect your health.

Practices such as mindfulness, guided relaxation, journaling, movement, and intentional rest may be incorporated into your experience. These practices can support emotional well-being but are not substitutes for professional mental health treatment when clinical care is needed.

Travel Health and Safety

International wellness travel requires thoughtful preparation. Before your departure, speak with your healthcare provider about your travel plans, medical conditions, medications, and any recommended vaccinations or precautions.

We also encourage you to:

  • · Keep medications in their original labeled containers
  • · Pack essential medications in your carry-on luggage
  • · Bring enough medication for the entire trip, plus additional doses for unexpected delays
  • · Carry copies of important prescriptions and medical information
  • · Review your travel and health insurance coverage
  • · Stay hydrated and follow food and water safety recommendations
  • · Inform our team of mobility, dietary, or accessibility needs before traveling

Understanding Your Results

Medical information can sometimes feel overwhelming. Your healthcare team will help explain your results in clear, understandable language and identify any findings that may require follow-up.

We encourage you to ask questions, take notes, and request copies of your results. After returning home, share relevant findings with your primary care provider or specialist so your care can continue appropriately.

A single test result does not always provide a complete picture of your health. Results should be reviewed by a qualified healthcare professional who can consider your symptoms, medical history, medications, and other relevant factors.

Aftercare and Continued Support

Your wellness experience continues after you return home. Our aftercare process is designed to help you understand your recommendations, remain connected, and take meaningful next steps.

Depending on your program, continued support may include:

  • · Follow-up communication
  • · Assistance organizing medical results and recommendations
  • · Reminders about suggested next steps
  • · Technology-supported wellness check-ins
  • · Educational information related to nutrition, movement, rest, and stress management
  • · Guidance for discussing your results with your regular healthcare providers

Our role is to help you remain informed, supported, and engaged as you continue your wellness journey.

Questions to Ask Your Healthcare Provider

Being prepared can help you get more from your medical appointments. Consider asking:

  • · What do my results mean?
  • · Are any of my results outside the recommended range?
  • · Do I need additional testing?
  • · Should I make any changes to my medications or supplements?
  • · Are there any foods, herbs, or supplements I should avoid?
  • · What lifestyle changes would be most beneficial for me?
  • · When should I schedule my next appointment?
  • · Are there symptoms or warning signs I should monitor?
  • · Which results should I share with my primary care provider?
